The art of becoming you
A competent body, a steady mind and a limpid soul for a long and fulfilled life.
Do you really know yourself ? Are you able to tell your story without saying ‘I still don’t understand why I did that’ ? Are you happy with your body ?
Do you (sometimes or often) give yourself that required time and that necessary space to question yourself ? Are you able to calm your body and to quiet your mind in order to accept the answers that will arise ?
The body does not lie, but its symptoms are (sometimes or often) difficult to comprehend. The mind can be a beautiful one, very spectacular and profound, and still unable to make sense of some ‘irregularities’ who appear to contradict your narrative.
The fact that you are not able (anymore) to simply sit in a deep squat for at least one minute can be formulated as ‘oh dear, I’m so stiff’ or as ‘I should be terrified because I’m not able to do what a normal body is supposed to do just to relief itself’. The same bodily fact, but a completely different translation.
Your body is translating your mind, your mind is translating your body.
Yoga and therapy can be the bridges between mind and body.
‘Be yourself, everyone else is already taken’ (Oscar Wilde)

The ancient Greeks had this ideal of kalokagathia, a perfect combination of physical beauty, moral virtue and intellectual performance. The Latins insisted that one should pray for mens sana in corpore sano. In yoga, the physical practice, the asanas, is only one aspect of an immensely complex life philosophy.
Maintaining a healthy body and a balanced mind as long as possible can and should be learned and practiced.
Aging is not a curse. Life can be a long journey overflowing with moments worth to be lived if your carrier, the body, is not impaired with unnecessary suffering, and if your mind can and feels free to explore all the possibilities you encounter.
A competent body, a steady mind and a limpid soul for a long and fulfilled life.
